Matt Speier

Matt Speier Bio Matt is a rescue technician / paramedic with Colchester Technical Rescue in Northern Vermont and is a rope rescue instructor for Peak Rescue Institute. He has been a professional ski patroller since 2001 and holds Certified Level status with the Professional Ski Patrol Association and National Ski Patrol. Matt was the rope rescue training and lift evacuation supervisor for Belleayre Mtn Ski Patrol and currently serves in that position for the Bolton Valley Ski Patrol. He was a contributing writer of the rope rescue chapters in Mountain Travel & Rescue: National Ski Patrolís Manual for Mountain Rescue. Recently Matt has been working to develop the rope rescue training program for Vermont Task Force 1 USAR Team.

Matt is a former FDNY paramedic and was a rescue technician with New York Search & Rescue. He instructs for the National Ski Patrol’s Mountain Travel & Rescue program and the South Puget Sound Community College Rescue program.
